THE STORY
The Guest House is a circa 1900 Mill Village house that was moved onto the property in 1991. Cotton mill villages were once common throughout the region, and the homes built for mill workers represent an important chapter in local history.
The mill village where this cottage originated has become a sought-after location in the area, known for its historic homes including the Lane house, which dates to some of the oldest wooden structures in North Carolina.
When relocated to Bloom Farm, the house was initially moved in as a full care facility for the owners' 99-year-old grandmother, providing her with comfortable, loving surroundings in her final years.
The home has since been redone as a charming one-bedroom, one-bath guest house, preserving its mill village character while offering all modern amenities. It stands as a tribute to both the industrial heritage of the region and the family values that have always been at the heart of Bloom Farm.
ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTER
