THE STORY
The Farmhouse, known as the Norcom-Hassell house, was built in 1870 by one of the largest landowners in the region, Dr. Norcom. The property was then purchased in the 1880s by a Mr. Hassell, who was the farm manager of a large nearby estate, Greenfield.
The Blooms bought the property in the late 1980s in order to raise their two young girls in a farm environment and were only the second family to occupy the house. At the time of purchase, the farm was still owned by the Hassell family, maintaining an unbroken chain of stewardship spanning over a century.
Gently caressed by the whispers of the wind, this historic home stands as a guardian of the past, its stories woven into every creaking floorboard, tall ceiling, and brick chimney. Fully restored, this treasure invites you to step into its embrace, immersing yourself in the bygone era while indulging in modern comforts.
Today, the Farmhouse offers three beautifully appointed guest rooms for extended stays, each named in honor of the families who have called this place home: The Bloom, The Haughton, and The Hassell.
